How to Join

Membership of the society is open to all who are interested in geology. The membership year runs from October until September. The membership categories and annual subscription rates (applicable from October 2014) are as follows:

Ordinary (full) membership: £25.00
Ordinary members receive the printed version of the Scottish Journal of Geology, which is published twice-yearly.

Associate membership: £12.50
Associate membership is available to the spouse/partner of an Ordinary member, to a member of Edinburgh Geological Society, or to anyone aged 60 or over. Associate members do not receive the Scottish Journal of Geology.

Junior membership: £6.25
Junior membership is available to anyone who is under 21, or who is a full-time undergraduate student, or who is a recent (within 4 years) graduate. Junior members do not normally receive the Scottish Journal of Geology, but can do so by paying an annual supplement of £6.25 in addition to the normal £6.25 subscription.

Membership is obtained simply by completing the appropriate membership form (Ordinary or Junior (under 21)) and paying the appropriate subscription. Should you wish to pay by standing order the appropriate form can be downloaded here. It would be financially advantageous to the society if new (or existing) members were to complete a Gift Aid form downloadable here. Alternatively you can contact the Hon. Secretary, Geological Society of Glasgow, c/o Gregory Building, University of Glasgow, Glasgow G12 8QQ by post, or come to a meeting (see our Lectures page) and you will be able to join there with the help of the hon. secretary or the membership secretary.
