The society is sorry to report the death of Dr Judith Lawson. Judith, who was a member of the society for almost 60 years and served as president from 1985 to 1988, died on 27 January 2022. Many members will remember study tours that Judith led to the Alps, the Pyrenees and Provence.
Judith’s funeral will take place on Friday 11 February at a woodland burial ground near her home in Cumbria, in a ceremony for family and close friends.
