Fossil Grove funding

Glasgow City Council has granted £450,000 towards essential repairs to the Fossil Grove. This is most welcome and starts the process of safeguarding the fossils and stabilising the building. This outcome was only possible as a result of the enthusiasm that members of the society showed in helping out with various outreach activities and open afternoons.

Council architects have had a site meeting with trustees and a report on their project plan is imminent. Although the works may result in the building being temporarily closed for some period of the year, we still intend to hold our regular open afternoons on the third Sundays of the month, starting on 21 April.
