Places are still available for the 'Scotland's Geodiversity Charter: Realising opportunities for communities, the economy, conservation and tourism sharing Good Practice' event at Battleby Conference Centre on Tuesday 17th December.

TV presenter and geologist Professor Iain Stewart will open the conference with a keynote "What's the point of geodiversity?" and this will be followed by presentations and discussions that look at the benefits of, and barriers to, considering geodiversity in site management and interpretation.
The afternoon workshop sessions offer hands-on opportunities to look at a wide range of issues- geodiversity audits, coastal and site management, local and landscape interpretation and links with biodiversity- and get help and advice from experts and other workshop attendees.

Geodiversity offers positive benefits for areas including tourism, the economy and enhancing local sites for communities. This event will help participants develop an awareness and appreciation of the Charter, which offers opportunities, through geodiversity, to enhance and promote local sites and benefit business, making a positive contribution to Scottish Government strategic objectives.
