Calderglen Country Park is a short distance south of East Kilbride in South Lanarkshire.  The postcode for the main access is G75 0QZ. Amongst the trails to explore at the site is a short (c 30-40 minutes) walk on the South (Bridge) Trail, following blue markers from the visitor centre. That trail leads to a sandstone gorge and a set of waterfalls.

Strathclyde Geoconservation Group members have created a short information sheet about this walk to help introduce accessible local geology to a wider audience.

A leaflet about Calderglen Country Park’s trails and attractions can be downloaded from the website of South Lanarkshire Council here.

Two geologists, Mike Browne and Paul Carter, have produced a geodiversity audit document for Calderglen Country Park, giving detail about the features that can be observed at different localities within the site.
