Crowdfunding campaign for Mary Anning statue

Mary Anning was a nineteenth century English fossil collector and palaeontologist who lived in Lyme Regis on the Jurassic coast of Dorset. She made many important finds in the marine fossil beds around Lyme Regis and her findings contributed to changes in scientific thinking about prehistoric life and the history of the Earth.

An organisation called Mary Anning Rocks has been set up to raise funds to erect a statue of Mary near her home in Lyme Regis. It has started a crowdfunding campaign with a target of £100,000. So far £80,000 has been raised. You can contribute to the campaign on the Crowfunder website. The campaign will end on 12 February 2021.

You can find out more about Mary Anning  and the crowdfunding campaign on the Mary Anning Rocks website.
