Strathclyde Geoconservation Group members have created a series of short information sheets to help introduce local geology to a wider audience.  The Whangie is one such site.

The Whangie is a ravine in igneous rocks on the north side of a hill reached from the Queen’s View car park on the A809 to the north of Glasgow.  The walks both to the Whangie and on the hill itself can offer rewarding views.

The information sheet tells readers a little about the geology and the folklore.

A popular short walk with remarkable geomorphology and views.
