At Balmaha, take a walk along the Highland Boundary Fault, evidence of a time where Scotland was split into a series of mini continents, known as "terranes". Enjoy a mixture of sedimentary and metamorphic rocks, and stunning views across the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.
The "Balmaha on Loch Lomondside" leaflet is available to view here. A more detailed excursion itinerary can be found here.

Balmaha lies within the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. An extensive report on the geology of the park can be found here.
